April 10th, 2016

Both teams had a great weekend in Louisville, KY competing for the NCVF National Championships. The A team finished 5th in the nation for Men's Division I following some untimely injuries, ending their season record at 42-1. The B team finished 3rd in the nation for Men's Division III, only losing to the eventual champion, Arizona B. Congratulations to the following people for receiving All-American awards for the tournament:

The NCCVL League Championships were hosted by UOP this weekend and the Cal Poly A team took home its second straight NCCVL DI league title! The team defeated Sonoma State and Sac State, both in straight sets to complete its undefeated season at 36-0. The B team fell in its semifinal match up to Humbolt State and took third in NCCVL DII. Congratulations to many of the Cal Poly players were named to the All League teams!

March 19th, 2016

The Cal Poly teams traveled to Las Vegas to take part in the annual Las Vegas Open tournament this weekend and finished well once again. The B team took third in the sivler bracket, falling to Oshkosh B in the semifinals. The B team had strong showings against some of the top teams in the country, including going to three sets with the Arizona A team. The Cal Poly A team continued their historic run with another undefeated weekend and managed to not drop a set. The team took home Cal Poly's first ever Las Vegas Open championship and pushed their record to 34-0 on the year! Next up, the teams will travel to UOP for the NCCVL League Championships. Both teams are looking to repeat as champions in back to back years.

The second set of national rankings has been released and both teams maintained their positions in the rankings! These rankings can be found at the link provided under the "Home" tab.

March 12th, 2016

Cal Poly completed the sweep of all league matches on Saturday, capturing the regular season division titles for both Division I and Division II. The B team topped SJSU at home in 4 sets to finish at 13-0 in league matches. The A team traveled to Fresno and pulled out a tough 5-set win over the Bulldogs to finish at 11-0 for league matches on the season. Both teams will play in the Las Vegas Open next weekend hosted by UNLV and look to continue their stellar performances. 

March 6th, 2016

The A and B teams continued their dominant league play this weekend, both capturing wins on the road. The B team defeated UC Berkeley B, SJSU, and SFSU to move to 12-0 in league play. The A team took down Stanford and a tough Santa Clara team, placing the team at 10-0. Both teams have one more weekend of league matches before the first national invitaional, the Las Vegas Open. 

February 28th, 2016

The Cal Poly teams won every single one of their matches this weekend, dropping only one set between the two teams. The B team went 6-0, cementing their place atop the NCCVL Division II standings at 9-0. The A team had a 5-0 record on the weekend, getting an important win over #16 ranked, Sacramento State. The A team remains undefeated at 24-0, 8-0 in league. 

February 24th, 2016

The first midseason rankings have been released and the A team has been honored as the #1 club team in the nation!! More good news, the B team was ranked #3 in the nation in Division III! These rankings can be found at the link provided under the "Home" tab.

February 21st, 2016

The Cal Poly Men's Volleyball teams had a solid weekend at home, both going 2-0 in their league matches. The B team took down San Francisco State and Monterey Peninsula College while the A team defeated Stanford and Santa Clara, all in straight sets. The B team improved to 6-0 in league play and 14-7 overall and the A team maintained their undefeated record at 3-0 in league play and 19-0 overall. Both teams will travel to UOP next weekend to take part in the NCCVL League Crossover Tournament, playing teams from the Northern Division. The club would also like to wish a Happy Birthday to setter Alex Buchanan!

February 14th, 2016

The club traveled to UC Davis for the annual Far Westerns Regional Championships. The B team got off to a slow start in its first three matches, but rallied to win its next 5 matches in straight sets before falling in the Silver Bracket Championship match to Utah Valley. The A team continued their undefeated season, improving to 17-0, with 8 wins and no losses to capture its second Far Westerns Championships in two years. The team only dropped one set all weekend, coming against SDSU in the championship match. Thank you to all the parents and friends who came out to support the teams. February 6th, 2016

The Men's B team maintained their spot at the top of the league table with this weekend at Monterey Peninsula College and Hartnell College. The team is now 4-0 in league play. 

January 30th, 2016

After dropping the first set of the match, the Men's A team came back to defeat Fresno State in four sets. The A team is now 1-0 in league play, and 9-0 overall. Thanks to Women's Field Hockey for coming out to support us!

January 24th, 2016

The Men's B team kicked off their league campaign by sweeping their two matches on Saturday and Sunday. Hartnell College and UC Berkeley B both fell in three sets, placing the Mustangs atop the DII leaderboard. 

 

November 8, 2015 - UCLA Preseason Tournament

Cal Poly had a great showing this weekend at the first annual UCLA Preseason Tournament. The A team went 7-0 dropping only one set all weekend to the UCLA A team. The A team went on to defeat a tough SDSU opponent in two sets to capture the championship. The B team did exceptionally well defeating both ASU A and Minnesota A on their way to a 3rd place finish. Thanks to everyone that came out to support us this weekend. Go Mustangs!

UCLA Preseason Tournament

Cal Poly showed a lot of potential from both the A team and B team as they each advanced to the gold bracket of the tournament before falling to ASU in the semifinals and quarterfinals, respectively. Our next games are not until 2017 so stay tuned!
